Tell us your opinions about board game nights in Cardiff

We're expanding our board game events across Cardiff and want YOU to get involved!

For the last 5 years or so, we've put on regular board game events around Cardiff and loved every single one.

We've been overwhelmed by the incredible response to every new event and every new venue from you, our lovely customers & attendees.

You can't have events without people coming along, and we've been lucky enough to have some of the most *wonderful* people at our events! Thank you so much to all who've come along so far - we can't wait for the next step of the journey!

Up to now, we've played games in:

  • Tiny Rebel, Cardiff
  • The Lansdowne, Canton
  • The Gate Arts Centre, Roath
  • Chapter, Canton
  • The Waiting Room, Tramshed
  • Penarth Library
  • The Angel Hotel

and more!

Gaming at Tiny Rebel Cardiff with Rules of Play

Currently, we host our weekly #BoardGameBar upstairs in Tiny Rebel, and a once-a-month games night at The Lansdowne in Canton.

Now, we're looking for more venues to add to the list! We're currently in the middle of finding new places anyway, and from feedback so far, we gather you'd definitely like us to host more events across more of Cardiff.

So, as the experts in 'showing up and playing games', we'd love your input!

Tell us which venues you'd love to play games in, and where.

Hi y’all

Yeah I caught up with a couple of yous few weeks ago to bemoan the lack of family game events rather than pub based events… The one at chapter is great and I the people are friendly, but it’s mostly adults.

I was hoping the college where I work would give me a room to run one myself. It is a little complicated tho because boardgame fanatics aren’t quite eligible for a free space, though there may be a workaround…

In the meantime, yes a new venue that’s going to to be kid friendly sounds great. Can’t think where though. Plasnewydd community hall maybe? Bit boring. So how about… Spit and Sawdust indoor skate park? The Globe or Tramshed? These are unusual venues but may provide the setting for an interesting and unusual event!

Feel free to get in touch :)
