The game offers a streamlined euro-style experience centred around a university made up of six distinct campuses, including subjects such as Art, Business, Science, and Architecture. Each campus gives players the opportunity to recruit or improve a student from that discipline, or take part in a themed minigame linked to its area of study.
At its core, gameplay revolves around placing student tokens onto action spaces across the campus boards. Players take turns clockwise until all students have been assigned. Choosing an action space that is already occupied becomes more expensive, with the cost increasing for each student already there.
Students can be trained through Levels 1, 2, 3, and Master, with each step unlocking stronger abilities and additional bonuses. Master cards also provide unique effects and allow placement on occupied spaces without paying the usual extra cost.
Played over five rounds, Red Leaf University introduces new opportunities and challenges as the game progresses. By making the most of your students’ abilities, the rewards from each campus minigame, and the round-based and end-game objectives, you’ll earn promotion points and work towards graduating at the top of the class.
