In Onix, you aim to create Collections of 4 different Gems. Be clever, acquire more gems than your opponents and use their effects to snatch a few more. The game is made up of 104 Gem cards. During the set up, each player places 4 face-up Gem cards in front of them, forming 4 starting Collections, then the remaining cards are shuffled and separated into 5 roughly equal-sized Draw Piles. The Piles are arranged face up in a circle in the center of the table.

Once the player completes these steps, it's the turn of the player to their left. Turns proceed in this clockwise manner until a certain number of Draw Piles are empty. The winner is the one with the most cards in their Stock.
