Job Title: Trading Card Game Event Coordinator (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, and Japanese TCGs)

Location: Cardiff

Employment Type: Part-Time, mainly weekends.

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About Us:

We are Rules of Play, a thriving hub for Trading Card Game (TCG) enthusiasts, specializing in Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, and other Japanese TCGs. Our goal is to create an exciting and inclusive community for players of all skill levels. We are seeking an experienced, passionate individual to coordinate events, grow our player base, and build relationships with local playgroups and competitive teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Event Management: Plan, organize, and oversee regular Japanese focussed TCG events, including tournaments, casual meetups, and special promotions.

• Community Building: Develop strong relationships with established local playgroups, competitive teams, and casual players to foster participation and collaboration.

• Judging & Rules Enforcement: Act as a knowledgeable judge for Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, and other Japanese TCGs, ensuring fair play and adherence to official rules.

• Partnerships with Playgroups: Work directly with local playgroups to incorporate their needs, feedback, and schedules into event planning.

• Promotion & Marketing: Use social media, email, and in-store promotions to engage the community and grow attendance for events.

• Inventory & Prizes: Collaborate with the store team to ensure sufficient stock of TCG products, prizes, and promotional materials.

• Feedback & Improvement: Gather input from players and local groups to refine events and provide an even better experience in the future.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, and other Japanese TCGs, including gameplay mechanics, rules, and tournament formats.

• Previous experience organizing or participating in TCG events, especially those involving local playgroups.

• Strong connections with existing TCG communities or the ability to build and nurture those relationships quickly.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and people skills.

• Certification as a judge for Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, or other TCGs is a plus.

• Proficiency in social media, marketing, and event management software.
