Games To Pick On Mum & Dad!
Day 2 of our Advent Calendar Gift Guide sees us recommend three games for picking on mum and dad!
Survive The Island
Survive The Island is a cutthroat game in which players seek to evacuate their adventurers — especially those of a high value — from a sinking island to maximize their score. An island made up of forty hex-tiles is slowly sinking into the ocean as tiles are removed from the board. Each player controls ten people (valued 1-5) that they try to move towards the safety of the surrounding islands before the main island's volcanoes finally erupt. Players can either swim or use rafts to travel, but must avoid sea serpents, kaiju, and sharks on their way to safety.
King of Tokyo
With it 5th Birthday, Iello have released this beautiful edition of the super popular, monster brawl that is King of Tokyo. With all new artwork and new characters there's never been a prettier way of playing this brilliant dice throwing game. So Keep an eye on those life points and get stuck in to the Tussle in Tokyo! Lets get ready to Rumble!
King of Tokyo is here to amuse and frustrate you! Struggle to be the strongest beast and get into Tokyo and then struggle to get out again as the damage is piled on from your opponents! Play mutant monsters, gigantic robots and other monstrous creatures, joyfully whack your opponents, rampage the city and become the one and only King of Tokyo! Let yourself go as you cause the most havoc in a city since the London 2012 Olympics. Maybe you'll be the strongest and coolest guy out there, using energy to get awesome improvement cards, or maybe you want to head out there and go crazy for victory points (after all you need 20 to win!) Either way, once you're King, you're sorted... right? Right?!
UNO No Mercy
UNO Show 'Em No Mercy is a brutal, ruthless version of the classic UNO card game. In addition to standard action cards like Skip, Reverse, and Draw 2, No Mercy comes with Wild Draw 6, Wild Draw 10, Skip Everyone, Discard All, and the new Wild Color Roulette - a card that forces the next player to choose a color and then draw until they get a card of that color.
In addition to new action cards, many popular house rules have been included in the actual rules. Stacking is legal. 7s swap and 0s pass hands. And when you can't play a card, you must draw until you can play. But the biggest change in UNO Show 'Em No Mercy is the Mercy Rule. If you ever have 25 or more cards in your hand, you get kicked out of the game.
