Game of the Week – Sentinels of theMultiverse. Don your best spandex pants and get ready to help save the world with your friends!Sentinels of the Multiverse is a brilliant co-operative superhero game, in which 2-5 players get battle it out against a range of dastardly villains. With ten different heroes and four villains (with even more available through expansions) there’s tons of variety here, and plenty of challenge too. Sentinels of the Multiverse brilliantly conjures up a great comic book atmosphere, with each hero having a really different feel and requiring different strategies based around their respective super-powers. Love Is In The Air .. Why Not Say It With Meeples? For those of you reading this on Friday afternoon, just a reminder – its Valentine’s Day today! Z-Man Games is Zooming. Not content with publishing smash hits including Carcassonne, Pandemic, Agricola, Robinson Crusoe and Tales of the Arabian Nights, Z-Man Games has announced a host of great new games and re-releases for 2014. Hitting the shelves later this year are the long-awaited reprints of fantasy classic Prophecy, the much-loved strategy gem Vikings and beautiful card game Fairy Tale. We’ll also be eagerly awaiting a host of new games and expansions, including dice-version of Pandemic, The Cure, retro computer-game themed The Battle at Kemble’s Cascade, foliage-friendly Arboretum, two-player discovery game Akrotiri and anew deck of cards for Agricola!
… While Fantasy Flight is Flying. Z-Man aren’t alone in announcing a load of exciting new releases for 2014. Coming from the stables of Fantasy Flight later this year are new ships for X-Wing, the first expansion for the marvellous Eldritch Horror, Shadow of Nerekhall for Descent, Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG, a new Game of Thrones card game and The Witcher Adventure Game, based on the hit series of novels and computer games.
Gaming at The Gate. We’re back to our regular last Monday of the month for this month’s gaming event at The Gate. Following the last-minute date change in January, we were unable to get along Chaos Publishing to demo their brilliant strategy game Medieval Mastery. However, they will be here this month, so come along for a chance to have a go at this great game. Don’t forget, we’ll also be hosting a special Gaming at The Gate session on the evening of Saturday April 5th as part of International Tabletop Day – put it in your diary for a chance to play some great games, meet some new friends and get your hands on loads of fab goodies we’ll be giving away!
