Game of the Week – Trains. Trains is a game for 2-4 players that combines the clever deck-building ofDominion with the addictive route-building of Ticket to Ride to create a wonderful gaming experience. Players compete to develop the most effective rail network throughout Japan by building up their deck of cards from a limited supply. Each card provides players with points at the end of the game, or allows them to build new stations or railways. Trains manages to be really accessible while having great replayability and depth, and comes very highly recommended. A Flock of New Tiles for Carcassonne. Arriving on the shelves very soon is the latest expansion for Carcassonne,Hills & Sheep. Use your shepherds to develop on hills, and build up flocks of sheep, but beware of the wolves! We’re always excited to see new expansions for Carcassonne, and with the theme, this could be the closest we ever get to a Welsh version of the game ;)

GAMA Trade Show News. The GAMA (Game Manufacturers Association) Trade Show in Las Vegas has been and gone, leaving us loads of exciting news about new tabletop releases we can be expecting to see over the next few months. The Dice Tower were there, and have produced loads of great videos to whet your appetite for new games. Its definitely worth checking out their videos checking out announcements from Victory Point Games, and Fantasy Flight. Viva Las Vegas!

World Domination Needs Plumbers … and 1-UP Mushrooms! We love this design for a version of Risk based on the SNES classic Super Mario World. Unfortunately, there’s no plans for this to actually get released, but if it ever does, we know at least a few homes that this will find a home in :)

It's International Tabletop Day Tomorrow! Don’t forget that we’ll be celebrating International Tabletop Day all day tomorrow. There will be open board gaming at Rules of Play from 11am, and then we’ll be heading over to The Gate for an evening of more fantastic games from 7pm, including King of Tokyo (with some Space Penguins to give away), Crokinole, Rampage, Eight Minute Empire Legends, and loads, loads more. See you all there!

Netrunner Games Day. Calling all runners and corps! We’ll be running a day of Netrunner at Rules of Play on Sunday 6th April from 11:00am. If you’re already a fan of this great card game and would like to size up against some new competition, or are just curious about what Netrunner is all about, come along and join us for some friendly competition and fun.
