The latest game in the Settlers of Catan series has now been announced, and will be set in ancient Egypt. No news yet on an English release, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed. Days of Wonder’s next release will be Five Tribes, from ace designer Bruno Cathala (Shadows Over Camelot, Cyclades) and brings worker placement to the exotic backdrop of the Arabian Nights adventures. Finally, more news and artwork is beginning to emerge about the forthcoming 10th Anniversary deluxe edition of Power Grid, which will include maps for Europe and North America.

Shut Up & Sit Down Play a Mega Game. The guys at Shut Up & Sit Down recently joined up withMegagame Makers, a UK-based group of boardgame designers who organise large-scale one-off gaming experiences. The video covering their experience is a great watch, as you see how they take on the role of the Japanese government attempting to work together with other world powers to handle an alien invasion.
